PEI invests in climate change training

Island professionals and recent graduates will benefit from training to understand and manage the impacts of climate change in their daily work through $625,000 in funding from the Province of Prince Edward Island.

The training will be delivered by the University of Prince Edward Island Climate Research Lab and the Department of Environment, Water and Climate Change as part of a program called ClimateSense.  The program provides training to both working professionals and to recent university graduates beginning this fall and will continue over the next three years.

Adaptation training will help Islanders adjust their thinking, decisions and actions because of observed or expected changes in the climate. It will help them reduce impacts or take advantage of new opportunities.
